BD vol. 14, p. 78, states that this recipient was F(rancois?) Simonet, employed "probably as a musician". However, the Simonets were mostly a family of dancers, and payments to "Mr. Simonet" this season were made regularly, separate to payments to the band, so they cannot be confidently categorised. |

Apparently a salary payment, corresponding to Mr Millington's salary and position in the payroll. The recipient continues to be paid but remains unnamed until the end of the season. Millington does not appear in BD, but the list of 1807 Drury Lane engagements (Folger W. b. 82) calls him the superintendant of stores, and the account books record occasional payments to him for miscellaneous objects and materials. Thus he is here understood to have been a housekeeper. However, the engagement list also suggests that Millington's employment had terminated by the end of the season, so perhaps the payments to an unnamed recipient actually went to someone else who had taken over his role. |

Presumably Messieurs Poland & Schneider, the furriers whom whom DL explicitly paid on 24 February 1809, and whom the Post Office Annual Directory (1808), p. 227 placed at 351 Strand. However, it should be noted that the same directory identified a "Poland J. G.", fur manufacturer, at Oxford Street (p. 227), and a "Schneider & Son", skinners and furriers, at 4 Holborn Bars, and a "Schneider John & Co.", Russia merchants, at 44 Finbury Square. |

Mr. Lacey |
Presumably a payment on Willoughby Lacey's annuity. BD vol. 9, pp. 108-10 states that, from 1804-05 through 1808-09 Lacey was paid £6 6s. per week as part of "an agreement that he was to receive one guinea from every performance. He also was paid periodically on his annuity but, as was usual with Sheridan, those payments frequently were in arrears"; and that Sheridan paid the second Mrs Lacey "18 guineas due on her husband's annuity" in 1804. However, frequent multiple-guinea payments (sometimes £6 6s) to a "Mr. Lacey" appear in the Drury Lane account books from the 1797-98 season onwards. This suggests that the £6 6s payments made between 1804-05 and 1808-09 in fact fell into a longer-running series of annuity payments. |
