Authorial Payments (Other) £150 External Paid Mr. Morton on Acco Presumed to be Thomas Morton, the playwright who wrote often for CG in the 1790s and early 1800s, and seems to have been paid regular round sums on that account. CG in the 1790s sometimes paid George Morton, "Coach-maker, 52, Long Acre", listed in London Directory (1795), p. 100, both in that capacity and as a renter, but the sums were smaller and less round, and he seems to have gone out of business around 1796.
