Unknown £20 Unknown Pd. Thos. Harris Esqr. pr Mrs. Grey Covent Garden paid a Mrs Grey multiple significant sums of money in the late 1780s, sometimes in relation to Thomas Harris, but her identity is unclear. The theatre employed a singer named Mrs Grey at this time, but her salary was only £1 a week at most; she does not seem a natural fit with these occasional payments (see BD vol. 6, pp. 320-1).
Unknown £204 3s 4d Unknown Paid Mr. Langford Covent Garden made four large payments to a Mr Langford in the 1785-87 seasons, some of them very exact (e.g. £355 6s 10d on 3 May 1786). The purpose is unclear; perhaps he was the same person mentioned in a payment of 27 January 1796, "Paid Messrs. Cox, Rudd & Langford arrear of Ints and expence on executing a reconveyance of 1/15 of 1/4 of the Powell Int".
Unknown £110 Unknown Paid Mr Brandon on Acct. of Thos. Harris Esqr. Could be James Brandon the housekeeper/boxkeeper or John Brandon the treasurer; could be a salary payment, or for Brandon's disbursements or departmental expenses.
