Unknown £8 8s Unknown Mr. R Caston in full BD vol. 3, pp. 99-100 identifies a single Mr Cason/Caston, dresser and wardrobe keeper at CG from at least 1735-36 through 1760-61, and assigns him no first name. Likewise the company lists at the start of CG's 1757-58 and 1760-61 account books list a Cason/Caston as a high-ranking member of the wardrobe department. But the 1746-47 expenditure records name both a James and Robert Caston. Presumably one, if not both of these worked in the wardrobe, but the uncertainty means that the payments concerned cannot be categorised.
