Miscellaneous £38 11s Departmental [nightly charge] This season's account book does not record or itemise the nightly charges, but it is evident that they were diverted from the nightly receipts. The sums are here calculated by deducting the money received into the treasury via Mr Wood from this night's performance receipts or benefit charge, as appropriate. This night's entire door receipts, £38 11s, were diverted to cover the nightly house charge.
Unknown 3s 6d Unknown Mr. Hool, for his men BD vol. 7, p. 403 suggests Mr Hool "may have been the head of a crew of stage carpenters or stagehands."
Unknown £50 Unknown Mr. Newnam (Exectr. of Mr. Greenwood) by the the hands of Mr. Phillips
Law 10s 6d External Mr. Lewis, for Makeing Mr. Mullart's Articles BD vol. 7, p. 403 suggests of a similar payment this season (18 April 1741) that it was for articles of clothing for Mr Hool's men ("stage carpenters or stagehands"). However, other payments this season for "makeing... Artics." (17 November 1740) and "Makeing... Articles" (here) were not to Mr Hamersly, and did not relate to recipients who managed a team, so it seems likelier that the "Artics" in question were articles of employment.
Loan Repayments (as Debtor) £38 6d External Mr. Ryan, by a Note paid to mr. Pepys wth. interest
