Actors £1 Internal Mr. Cibber All daily £1 payments to Cibber from 26 December 1740 until 20 April 1741 (after which the account book abruptly ends) lack the tick sign and marginal "pd" note written besides almost all other payments this season. Perhaps his payment arrangements changed on 26 December.

Construction £3 3s External Mr. Powell, Pavior in full discharge of his agreemt. for keeping in repair the pavement at Lincoln's-inn-fields Theatre
Construction £1 1s External To Mr. Watson, for his attendance thereupon "thereupon" presumably refers to the preceding entry, "Mr. Powell, Pavior in full discharge of his agreemt. for keeping in repair the pavement at Lincoln's-inn-fields Theatre". Perhaps the recipient was Christopher Watson, the contable paid on 20 November 1740.
Management 16s 8d Internal Mr. C. Rich
Proprietorial (Other) 11s External Mr. J. Rich on acct.
Miscellaneous £145 16s 2d Departmental [nightly charge] This season's account book does not record or itemise the nightly charges, but it is evident that they were diverted from the nightly receipts. The sums are here calculated by deducting the money received into the treasury via Mr Wood from this night's performance receipts or benefit charge, as appropriate. A large amount of the door receipts were diverted on this night; presumably some, but not most covered the standard nightly charge. Some of the money presumably went to this night's beneficiary, Mr Chetwood; and some probably went to Colley Cibber, who performed by special arrangement on this and two subsequent nights, but is only recorded as having been paid for the latter two.
