Miss Stuart on Mr Gartons Acct"", 23 June 1786; this presumably related to the actress Ann Stuart, who had been paid interest on £100 on 2 January 1786. Whatever was happening with Miss Stuart - whether a loan she had made the theatre, or arrears of salary which had accrued interest - therefore may have been happening with Mr Jones too."
