Likewise the company lists at the start of CG's 1757-58 and 1760-61 account books list a Cason/Caston as a high-ranking member of the wardrobe department. But the 1746-47 expenditure records name both a James and Robert Caston. Presumably one, if not both of these worked in the wardrobe, but the uncertainty means that the payments concerned cannot be categorised."
